Spent a nice time visiting at a lake in Northern Indiana this weekend with friends of Brian's that I haven't had as many opportunities to get to know as I'd like. Good food, good company, and generally a break from other responsibilities, though I did fit in a Renovation-related conference call (skype on the iPhone for the win!) yesterday afternoon.

Still experimenting on the salt-wooziness-electrolite ballance question. Was not woozy Saturday, but on the other hand my feet were a little swollen. *sigh* Sunday morning I tried an Alternative Energy drink and found myself almost finishing it in one long guzzle, so I guess it's something my body likes.

Was glad the sun came out and I was able to get in the water and swim around before we left. Don't do enough swimming. Need to get in the pool here at the apartment complex, yet. Brian's going hiking for the weekend, so if anyone wants to come over and hang out at the pool with me, let me know; I'll be looking for company. There are also tables on the patio near there where we can play cards and whatnot.

I learned a new card game this weekend, a Rummy-based word game called Quiddler, which was a lot of fun. I won, apparently maintaining a streak of always beating Brian at new games we play (excluding Scrabble, and I'm not keeping track, but he is, and keeps bringing it up :) ). Looking around online I am unsurprised to find Quiddler is made by Set Enterprises, which was founded by Marsha Falco in 1990 with the pattern-matching card game Set, which Marsha had invented based on her genetics work and then playtested with her family and made into a commercial game 16 years later. Her daughter, Colette Falco, now owns and operates the company and I encourage you to check out their games, of which there are now also several electronic versions available.

Our biggest priority this week is considering where we're going to move to, to live between when the baby comes and when Brian starts his post-doctoral career. We've got a bunch of appointments to see places today and tomorrow, so hopefully we identify one and plan a move-in date soon.
