I have not been blogging much lately, and neither has
flinx, so we've not yet done much to promote the fact that we are running for TAFF, the Trans-Atlantic Fan fund. (To vote for us, all you have to do is send in a ballot -available on the linked site - with a small donation for the fan fund - you can donate by check or paypal your donation and put your vote in a comment on the paypal payment).
Our friendly competition is
frankwu, and to demonstrate how friendly this contest is, I'm running an illustration by Frank in the MidFanzine that's coming out this week, and we're planning collaborative fundraising for TAFF.
Frank suggested last week that we see about doing a TAFF auction online, so I'm hoping some of the oodles of awesome authors we know will step up to the plate to offer tuckerisms (using a fan's name in a written work of fiction) and some of the awesome artists will donate artwork for the auction. I sent out a quick email this morning and so far Elizabeth Bear, Charlie Stross and Mary Robinette Kowal are on board for Tuckerisms!
It's very exciting.
If you too would like to donate something for auction to make sure that fine fans will be able to cross the seas for years to come to sow cross-cultural fannishness, please let me know!
