I didn't stay up to watch the speech, but I needed to watch it first thing this morning. It seems that's what it took to switch my heart to believing it actually happened, even though my brain had been told it last night. Yes we did.
Like many, I have tears rolling down my cheeks. Relief. Happiness. Hope. And a determination to follow through.
Here in Michigan we also made good progress, with Democrats winning many important posts, including Diane Hathaway, who will join our Michigan Supreme Court.
I congratulate those who won, rejoice with those who saw their candidates win. And encourage everyone to keep working. Keep talking to people who do not always agree with you. Keep paying attention. Stay engaged. There is still much work to be done.
