S. Zettel says it well:
A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door and A Swiftly Tilting Planet kept me company throughout my adolescence. Meg showed me courage and dedication. Her relationship with Calvin gave me a glimpse of what love should be like. Charles Wallace showed the bravery of pure faith in all the best of self and the universe at large. IT and the echthoi showed me genuine darkness and made me think. Then there was Proginokes the reluctant cherubim. I adored Proginokes more than any dragon or even hobbit I met later.

And MAN did the woman write the most delightful and original angels ever.

May she rest in peace and blessed memory.

I read all of those pretty early in my adolescence. Sometime soon I shall have to go read them again.
