I'll be donating blood at 4:30 this afternoon, then proceeding to a Michigan UPA talk, "Design for Two Different Generations: A User Experience Challenge", by Susan Weinschenk, about designing for the boomers and the net generation.

Save lives from up to three generations at a time by donating blood. Call 1-800-give-life to make an appointment today.

On September 30 I will be running the 5k in the Big House Big Heart run. If you would like to join me you can save $2 by registering before September 1. The 5k starts at 9 am and finishes with a run into the Michigan Stadium and out onto the field, finishing at the 50 yard line!

It should be a lot of fun, and I could really use someone to run with me for pacing, so let me know if you're interested.

Update: I am now raising money for the Washtenaw Area Council for Children as my charity for the run.

Just a quick notice that one week from this Friday, the Monkey Rampant sketch comedy group will be returning to the stage for the first time this year! (we've been on hiatus because the head monkey was having a baby)

We're really excited about performing on the new Dreamland Theater stage, too.

We'll be doing 24 sketches (22 of which will happen in a completely random order!), and they will range from the silly to the intellectual to the absurd. The show is all-ages, but some language and content will not be appropriate for younger children, so please use your discretion when bringing kids.

Admission is $6 at the door, or just $5 if you bring at least three non-perishable food items to donate to SOS Community Services, a local charitable organization that enables local families to get off the street and back on track. We strongly encourage you to contribute to this worthy cause.

The show starts at 10 pm, right after the Crossroads Music Festival that will be happening right outside the theater (27 N. Washington, Ypsilanti). The music starts at 7 pm, and the whole block on Washington between Pearl and Michigan will be closed so you can dance in the street! (The music festival music happens every Friday between June 1 and September 14)
