Good things

Bear has pointed to A note on boing boing saying that the recent request for help for Robert Anton Wilson has been quite successful and deeply touched him and his family. I'm glad. I donated some myself. Good to feel part of a good thing.

Too many good people hurt or dying lately, though. Yesterday found out a good friend lost her brother.

*shakes head*

*holds her loved ones close*

The best things in life aren't things. And they are oh so very precious!

Emily Dickinson wrote, My friends are my estate. Forgive me then the avarice to hoard them.
I think I know how she felt.

I just had a really nice walk to the post office and a really nice dinner with Chuck, who happened to still be on this side of town when I called. I'm tired, and I am content.

After dinner I went by stadium hardware and got more lightbulbs. A 25 W works really nicely in the newly placed wall lamp in the bedroom. Now I just need to find a shade or something for the closet light to swap out for a page from my thesis (ages ago, after we determined that we're never going to close the door to our walk-in closet, and in fact took the door off and to the basement, Bill determined that it bugged us when the closet light was turned on while one of us was still in bed - just a bare light bulb, after all. So he grabbed a handy piece of paper - an extra copy of a polar star display of my graduate work - and put it up between the bulb and the bed. Still lights the closet, sheild the eys of the sleeping. But is a little weird), and then we'll be well-lit in the bedroom, I think.

I'm also pondering putting up the Infinity Sconce Blade and Eleri gave us for our wedding, in the basement. I think I see a good place above one of the standing speakers. I really do thing the odds of someone hitting it accidentally are low.

For now, I'm going to go lie down and read myself to an early bedtime. I hope everyone's having a really good time at the con, and I hope I will see you there tomorrow.
