Going to walk on the Sleeping Bear
Aug. 4th, 2006 07:27 am...Dunes, that is.
My good friend Jenny (
freitagkitty) is in town from DC. I'm going camping over on the West coast of Michigan with her and Scott (
atdt1991) for the weekend.
We plan to be back by 6 pm at the latest on Sunday so we can do some campaigning around the precinct. I'll also be going door-to-door on Monday evening. If there's anyone (Chuck?) who's got some time Monday evening and would like to help me do my write-in campaign for precinct delegate, please let me know. I'm just campaigning to Democrats likely to vote in the primary (just in my half of the precinct) so it's not *that* many houses to go to, but it's a fair number. Also, Tuesday night a few candidates are having a victory party at Ann Arbor Brewing Co. that I'm planning to go to that should be fun; company is welcome.
I haven't posted on Bill's LJ yet, but He's in North Woodstock, NH. Actually he's planning to hike out today, so he'll be in Hanover, NH in a few days if all goes well, and out of the White Mountains and into some easier terrain. I miss him quite a bit, so it's nice to have good friends to hang out with for the weekend.
The house felt pretty empty last night until Brendan and Mike got in. Then it felt all homey again. I tended the fish and did some laundry and watched a movie called Closer that I'm pretty sure I liked. It was good to cool off in the basement and it took me longer than I expected to find the camping gear I wanted in the storage down there. Earlier Jenny went over the list of things to pack with me on the phone. I'm going to throw them together this morning and I'll be ready to go North when Scott comes to pick me up tonight after work.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
