It's late. I was going to get a whole bunch of con and AWC stuff done tonight but I put The Girl Next Door on the X-Box to keep me awake and ended up watching it a lot more than I expected. It's not a bad movie, really.

We started out the evening with a lovely dinner with Martha and Heinz, family friends of my parents' generation, formerly close neighbors and still and always wonderful people. We missed seeing them at christmas because my family was sick and so we still had their presents to give them, which I don't think they'd expected. It was very nice to see them.

Yesterday I joined a small group celebrating Chad's Birthday at Moro's in Allen Park. Dinner was good and the conversation was good. Most of us had the Chateau Briond. I realized driving home that I had almost gone against something I said early on in the evening, which was that my main rule at restaurants is that I don't worder anything I cook at home. The Chateau Briond is a cut of meat that I have cooked -- Bill and I did it for Christmas dinner two years ago I think, but Moro's did it slightly differently, so that was okay.

I don't really have anything of consequence to say, so I guess (bright idea, this...) I'll go to bed. Good night.
