estamos en madrid
May. 20th, 2002 06:55 amThis was written last night ( but I din´t have the net connection):
Sarah and I arrived in Madrid, safe and sound. The plane trip from Ne Jersey was really shorter than we expected. I watched A beautiful mind and Sarah watched Ali and they served dinner later and then we only had 3 hours before they served us breakfast and we landed in Madrid.
The weather is beautiful here. Sunny but almost cool in the shade. this was a good thing since we couldn´t check in until 2 pm and we arrived at the hostel at 11. they were closed for cleaning but they let us leave our bags in the office and we wandered the streets. I´m pleased to find that we are a comfortable walking distance from most everything we want to see.
We went down to the puerta del sol and had some food at a cafe.
then we were very tired so we came back to the hostel and napped because we had to wait for clean towels. Now we are clean! and life is good.
On the plane from Chicago to Newark we met a really interesting artist named Adam Scott, who teaches part time at Northwestern and is a painter. He and Sarah knew many of the same big names and had an active conversation about the current art world and what we all do. He and Sarah will probably be in touch in the future -he´s thinking of showing in a gallery in Denver.
