Bill and I are in Chicago. I don't really have internet access here, just awkward AOL dial-up of his mom's. We'll be here until mid-day Tuesday; Bill's uncle died and that's the funeral.
For those following the Young Adam Movie scheduling, we're thinking of Wednesday night, 7 pm, the State Theater.
It's so easy to forget how tiring and stiffening the car ride from Ann Arbor to here is. On the way over, Bill read a car magazine. Now he's pointed out that the Mazda RX-8 has an automatic option. It's got a lower redline, of course, but it also costs less and with my left knee and right shoulder injuries, I'm feeling like I have to switch to an automatic. I read the article he did and it does look good, though I'm not familiar with rear-wheel drive. I've been looking for a small maneuverable car with good interior access and the way the doors swing out the RX-8 has that. I don't want to feel like a copycat, Mike, but I think we're going to test-drive one.
then I just have to get a salary to pay for it... ;)

One thing to note about the automatic: there are a lot of rumors that the '05 version will improve it from a 4-speed to a 5-speed. This means two things, first you'll be able to get an '04 4-speed for pretty cheap if you wait a little bit (dealers selling off their remaining models, people selling their newish models to upgrade, etc) or if you get the 5-speed, it will have better performance, probably.

Seems like it would be worthwhile to try to write him a calm after-the-fact note about how you felt his comments undercut the effectiveness of your presentation, especially given that many of them were on something he instructed you not to talk about. If you'd like to draft something, Bill and I would be happy to read it over. Bill especially is good at looking over such things. Sometimes people really are totally clueless and there are ways to let them know that they have damaged your working relationship without being too provocative.
you could do it in a bulleted review of what you thought went well in the presentation (including development of it) and what you thought did not go well...
anyway, huge hugs.
We had an okay weekend. It was kind of sad, but it was good to be with the family. it really is a nice family.
