you're so sweet! I spoke to my advisor on tuesday, and I told him that the dynamic troubled me, that I din't want to blame him specifically, but that I felt he had unintentionally contributed to an uncomfortable environment for me. he said a lot of things like you're too sensitive. you worry too much. other students don't mind. in the developing world they're used to talking with the teacher not the student (we're not in the developing world. this I didn't say). what did you want me to do--let you lead the discussion (yes, or give the presentation yourself. this I said). I basically felt scolded for complaining. and he didn't have any substantive critiques of the presentation--he just felt free to cut in when there were parts he wanted to elaborate on etc.
