From my angle, being in your shoes with Anne would be like a cross between winning the lottery, and The Sound of Music. She sings beautifully, but "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?"; if I won her I don't know what I'd do with all my riches, but still I don't buy a ticket.
And fortunately for all of us, being "just" a friend is still really, really nice. And only a little more than I know what to do with.
