I worked the polls yesterday to support the new Judge of elections in York City pprecinct 13. We had 58 voters for the primary, 12 Republicans and 46 Democrats.

It is hard not to feel discouraged by the low level of participation in our democracy.

I miss what we had (in Canada) when Elections Canada used to pay eumerators to go door to door (and return several times, if nobody was home) to register voters. Our voter turn-out used to be seventy to eighty percent.

Thanks for serving, all the same. I was an election judge a few times a few years ago.
