Post-ConFusion: Happy but Tired

I feel like it might seem kind of odd that I of all people have yet to comment on ConFusion here on LJ. Then again, if you have the slightest idea how tired I am right now, it might not seem odd at all.

I had a wonderful convention.

The one thing I spent a significant amount of time stressing about, the hotel didn't charge us for after all, so it was okay. There were other things I might have stressed about had I known about them, but I didn't find out about them until after the fact and for the most part that was because my staff handled them beautifully.

On a couple significant (but not con-ruining) issues, nothing was done about them when something could have been done. Note for next year: emphasize that if my department heads and subheads have something they are unhappy about, they should let me know about it ASAP.

There are lots of other notes for next year, but I'm doing my major brain dump in private.

having a cell phone is pretty fun. Bill just got one a couple hours ago. his takes pictures.

okay, my sentences are getting choppy. time to go to bed.

Thanks to all of you who came and helped make my first year chairing a con such a wonderful experience!

(sign up now to help with next year...) :)

It was an excellent convention. One of the most impressive things
was how well things went with the new hotel the first time around.
I know that's not easy to do.

Congratulations!

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one who hasn't posted a con report. And you're definitely not the only one tired; it seems many (myself included) have come down with the plague.

It seems my body treats a Con like a dire emergency. Go at full capacity while the emergency is occuring, and when everything is over it lets itself go completely to pieces.

But I wouldn't change it for the world. It was a great weekend. (smile)
