Celebrate New Underwear Week!

Do you have any favorite brands of underwear? Go spoil yourself and get some fresh pairs!

A few years ago I decided that I would try to get myself some new underwear once a year around this time, and I declared a holiday. I believe I posted pictures that first year, which was a year when I was in fabulous shape and feeling grand. :)

Don't know if I'll do that this year, but my current stack of underwear that fits me is certainly looking frayed around the edges, and I've not yet slimmed back down into the fun stuff I bought when I was really in shape, so I think I'm going to honor my silly holiday and get myself something new this next week. Join me in the celebration!

I think there can be something especially cheering and self-indulgent about renewing your own stock of undergarments, and I am now looking forward to doing it.

I do this as well, usually in the spring with on-sale holiday/winter themed underwear. I really like red and snowflakes! But I am horrible at getting rid of things so THIS year was "actually throw away the old underwear" year. I hate waste, but I don't know any use for it; the fabric isn't right for rags. :-\

I think Underwear Week should get its own mythology. Panty Claus comes to your house in the middle of the night and leaves stockings in your stockings.

Ten days before Underwear Week is Ass Wednesday, when you show you're worthy of new underwear by going commando for ten days. This is called Lint.

Coincidentally just a couple of hours ago my housemate Molly and I went on a Target run in which we bought, among other things, lots of new underwear for the former residents of the house near us that burned yesterday (12 people lived there, a bunch of them are friends of ours).
