Reminder: SMOS Dinner Friday 6 pm, my house

The geeks are gathering! And I get to feed them! I mean, us!

Actually, it's a potluck, but I will be providing a meat and a vegetarian entree. Sheryl just provided me with a tasty-looking vegetarian chili recipe and I'm also making Hungarian Goulash (which has beef in it). I am probably not going to make csipetke (noodles) myself, so I'm interested to know what people prefer for it to be served with. I will eat mine without, so I really don't care.

[Poll #1257396]

If anyone would like to come early Friday to help make the Chili, you are welcome to come by anytime after 4:30 (I have a class at WCC until 4). I will probably cook the goulash tomorrow and then reheat it Friday, since it needs a couple hours to stew.

As to why, because they taste good and are quick n easy.

I cheat a lot when I cook, and with good results.

Egg Noodles, the classic noodles to use with Goulash.

I like egg noodles, too. I've just had them a lot more often recently and thought a change would be good. :)

Blow everyone's mind...couscous! or orzo!

I'll vote for "it doesn't matter." The goulash is the star of the show and the noodles are, at best, a supporting actor.

I voted! But it doean't matter, cuz I can't come ....pouty face :-(

I'll miss you all

You should consider cooking the chili at the same time as the goulash, unless you don't have two big pots for it. That way you can have one big mess to clean up and the chili has time to meld flavors for the next day.

Dave and I will be there, but probably not til 7:30ish. I work til 5:30 and then we have to swing by [livejournal.com profile] alem's house to pick up a laptop for Britt.

An A2 sighting of A & D? And I don't think we have plans on Friday!
