ConClave: Many Goings On!
A friend asked me yesterday if I am going to ConClave, so I decided I must not have been talking about that enough here. And I just got my schedule, so good timing.
Yes! I will be at ConClave (which will be Oct 3-5, at the Crown Plaza Detroit Airport Hotel). In Fact, I will be performing Friday night with my Comedy Troupe, Monkey Rampant, and otherwise I will be running a SFOHA fan table, where we'll be loaning out recording kits for people who wish to record things, and I'll be recording things myself, and I'll be on a couple panels, and then Saturday Night we will be holding an Absolutely! Smashing! Cryptic ConFusion party Saturday night, hopefully with cool Mystery food prepared by Sheryl and Lucy.
If anyone can videotape Friday's performance, btw, Ken will be forever grateful.

Why are people resistant to e-books? Our panelists will discuss their forays into the world on online promotion and publication and where they think we may be headed.

The Science Fiction Oral History Association (SFOHA) has some recording kits to loan out to people for the purpose of capturing the oral history of the science fiction community. If you have an interest in helping with this project please stop at the SFOHA table in the upper atrium. Generally SFOHA records talks and panel discussions. Panelists are requested to fill out a release form and no recordings are done without permission by the panelists involved.

She may well have said that about helping with the party itself, that fits perfectly with my memory, but she and Lucy (who was also not sure she could make the con or the party) both sounded like they could and would cook for it the night before. If you talk to her about it you might also remind her I offered her crash space in one of the beds in the suite room if she decides to come, but I too remember that she was not committed to attending. Only to helping make fun Cryptic food. I'll be in touch with her about a budget for food for the party.
