Had a good AASFA meeting last night, but otherwise the second half of my day was pretty down. I was feeling anxious and depressed about the Gyricon post of a product manager position, feeling that it was perfect for me but that there will be lots of other people better qualified than I am vying for it.
I did revise a product manager resume for it that I think is stronger than before, but I still think my resume is lacking in active verbs. Resume review wednesday at the CEW lunch workshop on looking for a job.
Regretting not being more active in pursuing the job option at the corporation for a trained workforce. As Bill reminded me again last night, I'm rapidly aproaching our end of February deadline, at which point I enter the "get any job" phase of the job search. I could do a lot worse than a researcher position.

*smile* I'm quite comfortable with it now, especially since I'll no longer be your assistant chair by March.
I think this is a lovely idea. I can put together a new resume and a cover letter, but I also think your offer of arranging a lunch is a splendid one. I'm free for lunch today, friday, next monday, tuesday, thursday and friday. I could also do an early lunch on Wednesday, say around 11, but I'd prefer another day.
If you could get me a better idea of what responsibilities it might entail, I can put together a better application.
(thank you very much. this means a lot. especially, I'm glad to know you aren't sick of working with me... :) )
Re:
This is why I'm thinking a lunch will be better - there's really no set job description - a lot of what people end up being hired to do depends on what strengths they bring to the company. So the way I see it, is you do the lunch, and if you and Jeannine agree that our needs and yours match, then you create a resume that you think highlights those strengths.
I'll see what I can set up and get back to you!
