Designs for Coloring (Ruth Heller)

The other day I was showing some friends one of my favorite books and activities from when I was young - Designs for Coloring 3, by Ruth Heller. I colored in that book when I was sick, primarily, and remember very clearly how sad I was the day my favorite color ran out in my fine-tip marker set. It looks like it is no longer in print, but you can get many other books by her - both wonderful coloring books and some pretty neat-looking nonfiction children's books. (For the best comparison with the book I have, see Designs for Coloring: Snowflakes.)

This afternoon I created a wikipedia article on Ruth Heller, who died in 2004 at the age of 81.

I'm curious, are any of the rest of you familiar with her work? Did you have any favorite coloring or activity books when you were a kid?

I think I had one of her geometrics books when I was younger. purchased as Toys R Us, of all places. now i have an urge to find one of her books and get to coloring. :)

The point was that the OTHER post's pic was wide enough that it made my friends page wider than my browser window. This one only slightly so, but I still had to open it in a new tab to find out, since the other one is still on my friend's page.

Nice article. As a nitpicky Wikipedia editor, however, I'd point out there are a few issues with NPOV here and there ;)

yeah, I think I'm over-reacting to recent articles' being attacked for not asserting the specialness or worthiness of the topic.

Not particularly, that I remember, but I did recently buy one - the Strohl Munitions Plasma Cannon Safety Activity Book is available as a PDF for any donation at all here.
