Thoughts out to Minneapolis

posted that last before I got caught up on LJ and news and such. So far I haven't heard of any of my Minneapolis heartfamily being involved in the I-35 bridge collapse, for which I hug you all and send thanks out to the universe.

Hope news continues in that vein...

Wow! We drove across that bridge last week in very similar heavy traffic conditions. I hope the casualty toll is not high, but signs do not look promising, considering how many vehicles are in the river...

I've been seeing 4 deaths confirmed, and 20-30 missing. And cars visible with bodies still in them. The news anchor (while silly enough to say only 4 confirmed dead so far was good, even though that number was "likely to rise") did say that despite the fact that the drop was about 5 stories, a lot of people did survive and escape their vehicles and help others escape. For as wide and busy a road as that was, it could've been a lot worse.
