Dancing in Summer

I have neglected to mention that my friend Aimee is performing this weekend at the Performance Network (120 East Huron St, on the corner of Fourth Ave. and Huron)

Dancing in Summer
by Terpsichore's Kitchen
a showcase of dance works by independent choreographers who have presented works nationally and internationally.

Tickets: Saturday at 8:00 pm: $25 and Sunday at 2:00 pm: $22.

I'm planning to go to the Sunday performance. This is an annual showcase produced by Aimee and the performances are always good.

Wasn't it? I'm glad you liked it. Turned out I was wrong and Aimee wasn't performing in it, though other people were performing pieces she'd choreographed. She came on stage, but in between pieces when the lights were down, to change the set dressing. I was tempted to clap for her one time when she did that, just to be silly, but I missed the right moment and so I didn't.

I commented to her that the poster had given me the impression she'd be dancing, since she's in it, and she said what that really indicated was that she was one of the only people she could reliably get to come to a photo shoot. :P

I'll try and let you and Tomak know about future performances (were there particular dances you especially liked?)

Yes, but I can't remember which they were at the moment with the exception of the first act following the intermission. Much fun. :)

There was one performer (Megan Burtke?) who both Tomak and I were very impressed with. She was in almost half the performances and was simply fantastic. It turns out she and I will be going swing dancing sometime within the next couple of weeks. < grin >
