Got an opinion on robot lethality?

The Georgia Tech Mobile Robot lab is doing an Opinion Survey on the Use of Robots Capable of Lethal Force in Warfare. Those who are interested are invited to participate.

We've already got them: they're called SideWinder missiles. What's to debate?

Sidewinder missiles are targeted by human systems, always with a human eye on the target before the command to fire is given (then they replan their routes as needed to stay on target). What do you think about having autonomous systems (robots) making targeting decisions themselves?

As with so many such things, I want to see the questions before I decide whether I want to answer them, much less give the questioners information about myself.

Well, once I take the survey, I'll let you know what the questions are. I know some of the guys from that lab and they seem like pretty smart folk, so I have high expectations.
