Well, I've gotten depressingly little done on job hunting today, but I did get my mom's ISP account turned off for her (she's been spending money on it when her computer hasn't worked properly for months.. and earthlink is easiest to contact if you have a working computer) and I did get a walk in the morning when the sun was shining on snow (which seems now to be all melted), and I'm just about completely caught up on Confusion programming stuff (once I get the letters mailed that Bill's printing for me, I will be completely caught up).

And the week of thanksgiving is probably not the strongest week to be applying for a job in any case...

... but still I sigh

Honestly, the period of time between Thanksgiving and the New Year is not a good time for job hunting.

nod. I'm aware of this. I have one possible lead for some contract work and if that falls through at least I have access to some servers that will allow me to practice and get more up-to-date on things like PHP and SQL and javascript. And still, I'm making some contacts with industry in the area, which may hopefully lead to a good position early next year.

and at least we have almost all our christmas shopping done, so I will not be doing a lot of agonizing over spending money I didn't help earn. well, not all of the time anyway. And heck, we might actually send christmas cards to everyone on our list this year... (since I'll have extra time... I've already started writing them)

It's definitely a lousy time of year to job-hunt, as everything slows down and companies are loath to add expenses at the end of the year, but don't let that stop you from continuing to look!
