LOVE this

The enemy's gate is down! I'm not usually one for punning, but this one made me smile big.

I have begun campaigning for Randall Munroe, xkcd author/artist, to be invited as GoH to Penguicon. If you also like that idea, please let me know. I don't want to have to be talking about the squirrel in my pocket.

OMG! That took me two read-throughs. I. love. it.

I would LOVE to have him be a Penguicon GOH. And, frankly, as much as I tend to dislike puns, this was a perfect one.

Umm, now about that squirrel in your pocket? Hehe...

I totally love xkcd. At Arisia, since I had my LJ badge on, someone asked (based on the coincidence of letters) if I was the xkcd guy. I said "no, sorry, but I wish I was".

I'd be all for having him be GoH. Not that I'm making it to this year's Penguicon (as much as I want to), but next year might happen.

Now, the question is can you make it to the xkcd coordinate gathering?

*grin* Well, I'm talking about next year, so...

I saw that about the coordinate gathering. I might think about going if anyone I know is also going. *raises an eyebrow* you?

I have yet to participate in a spontaneous silly mob event, after all.

Hardly spontaneous.

well, not spontaneous except in its declaration, I guess. There being no excuse for gathering other than that a date/time and coordinate have been *mentioned* in the comic.

Well, since I'm in the vicinity[1] of 42.359868,-71.092043, it's not too tough for me to get to 42.396432,-71.129222. It is, quite literally, just across town; it's at the other end of Cambridge, and Cambridge isn't that big physically.

I'm planning to be there.

[1] I do not work or park or live at that exact location, though.

I am neither a squirrel nor in your pocket, yet I concur. In fact I've been thinking the same thing for a while—I was just too apathetic to do anything about it.

Regarding the coordinate gathering, I'd like to know whether the time (14:38:00) is local or UTC. That question being answered, I would certainly like to go, if I could share driving and expenses with one or more people. The biggest obstacle is that it's on a Sunday, meaning that we couldn't possibly drive home before late Sunday night.

1438Z would be 1038 local. I may just show up then, and come back four hours later if nobody else is around.

:-) Not qualified to comment on penguicon, but this comic is awesome! :-)
