When the pain subsides (Aquarium - Russian Rock Music)

When the rain stops falling,
The rain that would calm us down,
When the shadow leaves the earth,
I'll wake up here, let me wake up here,
In the tall grass by your side.

Let our house be carefree,
Hidden by the grass and thick leaves.
Having discovered everything that used to be a mystery,
I'll begin to wait till the pain subsides.

So, let it rain,
Let the snow burn,
Let death sing in the world,
I want to know,
I simply want to know,
Will we be, who we are
When the pain subsides.

um. actually, I have only heard this song in a classroom. Today I sorted out my entired bookshelf unit in my office and got rid of a bunch of papers --handouts -- from my 1995 college course called Russia, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Most of what I kept is poetry, including some song lyrics. These resonated with me today, so I posted them.

Maybe I should borrow some of yours? :)
