putting on nail polish is harder than it sounds

I'm putting on nail polish to day for my costume for the stilyagi party (American corporate capitalist warrior person). It's not as easy as you might think. I remember when I was a kid it was dificult and I kind of figured that when you get to be an adult, this magically gets easier. But it doesn't. Well, your nails do get a little larger, but otherwise it's just as tricky.

I remember things as I go. Start in the middle, then do the sides. try to keep your finger level, put it on evenly. don't mess with it or it won't dry smooth. lots of blowing.

okay, I took a break to go visit Hope, who loaned me a fabulous pair of boots and a wonderful frilly shirt. She told me it takes about half an hour for a coat to dry, so I turned on the TV and made myself a late lunch to help my patience.

I had to re-do four of my nails from scraping them against things. It isn't easy. I can see why women who want their nails like this all the time hire it done.

no photos that I know of. And half the clothes were Hope's, so I'm unlikely to repeat the costume.

Darn, you need to be followed around by a photographer with a digital camera, in case you do something interesting. Perhaps I could make an endowment for a dirty old man... Very sorry I missed the party now.

Tell me when's good for you to get the book, I'm very free, nothing to do tomorrow but vote since we have the day off.

Well tomorrow I'm volunteering for the HRC in Ypsi from 10:30-1:30 for election coverage (one of those GLBT things, which btw does stand for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transexual -Rennie was close. Having been part of that community for ten years, I guess I tend to assume my friends know what the term is). Then later I told Jean I would give her a ride to the polls - no time set for that. Want to visit Jean together and hang out while she votes? (I believe her polling place is different from mine).
