Oh my

Last night I saw the following license plate:

    FUNELDY

If I'm reading that right (I read it FU Nel Die), I just can't imagine having such a powerfully negative message proclaimed on my car all the time. It does make me wonder what's going on between the driver and this Nel person...

It could of course mean something much more positive starting with FUN... but for some reason I don't think so.

Or it could be FU Neldy.

FUN-E LaDY

that's how I parsed it as well.

*grin* I think you guys are sort of missing her humour. :D

[identity profile] yix.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
who has humor at 5am? ;)

That's when I'm at my silliest.

Of course that's probably because I've been up all night.

Much better than my thoughts of FUN ELDY... a jocular retired person. :-P

It was Barbra Streisand!?!?!?!

Oh! Oh!

That's a much happier thought.

I think it would have been clearer had it been spelled FUNYLDY or FNNYLDY.

But it wouldn't have been nearly as much fun to speculate about.

Those plates might already be taken.

[identity profile] mishamish.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno... it's giving me an idea of a customized license plate of "FUNDIE," but it might get me mistaken for a religious fundamentalist.

Maybe "FUOKBI?"

My first thought was 'Oh, it's one of those Ham Radio Codes... so people can tune in and talk to that person, or something.

But then I read the comments, and I like Funny Lady better.

[identity profile] tlatoani.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
(Plus, to be completely geeky, it isn't a Ham Radio callsign. They come in a few specific formats, always include a digit, and can't start with F for US operators. ;-)

Clearly, there are those who know more about it than I do...

i am going to go with fun e lady

i thought it was funnel lady at first
which brought up all kinds of odd images

[identity profile] shekkara.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Fun-E-Lady "funny lady"

(Now I'll read the other comments and see what else people came up with.)

I sure didn't see that -- but I may have been influenced in how I read the plate by reading this article on Fark yesterday, about a Corvair driver who dislikes Ralph Nader...

[identity profile] delosd.livejournal.com 2006-09-08 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, there is a FUNELDY that is a seller on eBay and Amazon.com. Maybe you had a one in a million intersection. ;)
