One of Bill's fellow hikers posted a picture of him (Pi) descending Mahoosuc Arm:





His stories about climbing up and down steep and rocky grades were impressive even before I saw this picture.

They're 'Leki's. Also good are Comperdel, but they have no US support. Much cheaper are 'Swiss Gear' (or something like that) available at WalMart (though I rarely go there.)
