news, explosions in India

sleigh has good comments about how the explosions that killed almost 200 people in India didn't make a dent in U.S. News yesterday. I'd heard about it because I mostly get my news from you folks (thanks, novapsyche).

Every so often I shudder to think of the cultural and informational bubble most of America seems to reside within.

But some things are still good. I was over at my mom's on Sunday, and Simpsons was on TV, and I hadn't seen that episode before, and it was good, and it made my mom smile (she had a hystorectomy on Friday and was looking kind of fragile), so that was good.

well, if you go to mlive.com you don't see it. Then again, that seems to be just local news. I don't know if it made the front page.

MLive is local, but they show a couple national stories from the ticker at any given time. They probably rotate off pretty fast.

You're welcome for dinner. I was glad there was enough so everyone could get a taste of the pork. Tonight I'm going to cook up some italian sausage, I think, and use up that pasta sauce, and maybe make a big salad, sorting through the various bags of greens we have and throwing away whatever's no good.

I've lost the name of the carpet cleaners I was going to call. Please let me know what days next week you can be home for them to come.
