What a great idea for encouraging activity. Of course, it makes it difficult for disabled constituents to talk with her, but as long as she provides other opportunities, I think it's great.

I don't remember politicians near my hometown offering "Town Hall" meetings and coffee meetings with constituents the way politicians in SE Michigan do; it's quite common practice among state reps and senators here, and I think it's fabulous.

yeah, it's cool. I can't do it with my sprained ankle but I wanted to spread word.

My US congresswoman used to hold coffeehouse meetings throughout her district almost every weekend. Part of the reason why I resented the redistricting that put her against one of our senior congressmen (Dingell) and caused us to lose her in the house.
