New idea: Saturday night dancing?
So, pondering what to do after the Monkey Rampant show on Saturday, I was thinking it would be fun to go out dancing. Trick is, I'm allergic to cigarettes.
Does anyone know a good place to go dancing that isn't all smoky and has good music on a Saturday night?

Just to let you know that I found your LJ because Neil Gaiman linked to your "Notes on Neil-handling" page in his blog (very interesting and funny read, BTW), so you'll probably be gaining a few readers today.
Never mind me, I'm just the usual fan / annoying noisy person who likes to know what's going on backstage now that I've attended a few cons.
I don't actually expect or want juicy details, but I find the whole thing fascinating because it's quite new to me.
I've seen a couple of badly run events that made me thought I could do better, and a couple of well run events that made me thought that this was how things should be done. So in the eventuality that I'd participate / steward at / lose my mind and try to organize anything similar, with or without Neil, I just like to read experiences from others who know better.
And I'll stop bothering you now.

Wow, I feel bad now that I'm one of the masses of strangers who'll be swamping your journal. We're nice though - promise!
Regarding the post, I'm afraid I can't help unless you were going to fly down to Sydney (pretty easy here considering smoking is being banned in clubs and pubs across NSW in a few years) - good luck though!

Apologies for the "made me thought". My excuse is that English is not my first language so I sometimes .
Oh, and I'm in France, so it's not like I was going to stalk you or was trying to kiss up to you to "sneak in" the con system. Saying that because I've seen just enough of it to, well, realize that there was a lot of that... *sigh*

Hey! I'm planning on going to SEMGS on saturday, but I could probably join you for something later in the evening if you'd like. Dancing sounds fun! I don't know of any non-smoking dance places though....
Well, I don't know of any places at all so you know a lot more than me. Where would you recommend for people who were starting in Ypsi and don't want to drive too awfully far?
Hiya!
I try not to spend my whole life on that one topic and am actually really looking forward to Penguicon 3.0 (http://www.penguicon.org), when I will no longer be chairing ConFusion and will only be Cory Doctorow's liaison for the weekend.
At worldcon in Scotland next summer, (assuming Neil doesn't go) I will only be helping run the Hugo Awards. If you're going to be attending and would like a backstage volunteer position that affords some shmoozing with author and editor types, let me know.
I like your user icon - Manara, right? I have a bunch of his stuff in Spanish I should really finish reading but I'm afraid my spanish is getting worse than rusty. :(
