Hey all you budding writers coming to Confusion --

If you're coming to ConFusion, and you write (Rikhei? Laura?), you should read this note from Jim Hines:

Good morning,

I'm one of the writers who will be running the workshop this year, along with Catherine Shaffer. Both of us have been very excited about this. Between the two of us, we've done a lot of workshopping (Clarion, WindyCon, & Writers of the Future, as well as our own writing group), and it's generally been both helpful and fun.

So far, we've gotten a grand total of zero interested responses. I really want to see this happen, so if you know of anyone who will be attending ConFusion this year and might be interested, please pass the info along to them. And if you've been thinking about doing the workshop but aren't sure, I'd encourage you to go ahead. I promise we don't bite. (Well, I suppose I can't speak for Catherine... :-)

We're asking for a short story or the first chapter of a novel, up to 5000 words, submitted to workshop@goblinquest.com by December 11th.

And if you have any questions, please ask!

Best,
Jim

I might be interested...

...and I'll pass word on to my writer's group. But, honestly, I'm not sure I'm going to have anything actually finished by December 11th...

Ugh!

Do you know how much I WISH I were going to Confusion?

Fucking capitalism and the need to receive value for value.

I just saw this post today. I think I am going to brush up what I wrote for Nano, and submit it.
