usability of trash cans

Interesting usability side effect of the new robotic trash cans that have been distributed around Ann Arbor...

I can no longer tell by looking down my street whether or not the garbage truck has already been there.

well, as far as the first week went, they started out randomly arranged at the ends of driveways with lids closed and they ended up randomly arranged at the ends of driveways with the libs closed.
