eh, I think it has categorically changed. I mean, people have bemoaning the fact that Rome is not what is was for centuries. That doesn't mean it's not a vibrant, wonderful city. But it's also not what it _was_ (probably for the better, in that case). Ann Arbor is really something. It's just not the town I grew up in. (and neither is my high school much like it used to be, from what I hear).
