Getting rid of things

Am trying to clear out extra things while prepping to show the house. Am giving away a broken Black and Decker T2200 Toast-it-all (Bill clearly thought it was fixable, so kept it), a dustmop, a few easter baskets, some styrofoam coolers, and some plastic tubing/pipe such as you'd use for fishtanks. Am also hoping to sell a set of 4 dining rm chairs ($50 or best offer), and my leather couch/loveseat/armchair set, which is full of reclining goodness but just isn't me (haven't set a price on that yet), and a painting from cozumel ($15 - which is much less than I paid to have it matted and the hanger put on the back). Pictures are available on my flickr account. Let me know if you want anything.

I also have a lot of random wood, so let me know if you need some.

Amusingly, I, too, have random wood I'm just giving out!

We might be interested in the couchy-type set. I'll have to check with the boss of furnishings and decorations to be sure tho.

Those chairs are awesome, though I probably can't afford them right now.

I'm always up for random wood though, for the many projects which come and go around here.

:)

well, lemme know. Looking around, it looks like it's worth between 700 and 1100, so if you're interested, make me an offer, and we'll see what happens. :)

which chairs? The upholstered ones? You can have 'em if you can come get them. Your pick of random wood, too. :)

lemme know if you get takers for 2 of 3 pieces of your couch set. We've been keeping an eye out for a used love seat sofa-bed for the basement but we have not been able to find one. We don't have room for three big pieces, though.

Good luck!

Is the "random wood" hardwood? Don is always up for good pieces to be turned into shelves, tables and such...

I might be interested in the dining room chairs. Are there pix of those yet?

No rush or priority, tho. If you can get what you want for 'em, please do. We should probably be limiting expenditures now, so we'd probably fall into the "or best offer" part. :)

Yes! picture at http://www.flickr.com/photos/akgmurphy/3024511189/

I haven't gotten any nibbles so far.. mostly I just want for them to go away, so if you're interested and you can come and get them (especially if you can do so before Sunday), by all means, they are yours.

no, not so much. Generally, it's 2 x 4's, 4 x 6's, some 1x-, trim, and scrap plywood and particle board.

[identity profile] knightlygoddess.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'm very interested in that painting. If you'll take a check, I have $15 to purchase that from you!

Also - once you settle on a price for the leather set/pieces, please let me know!!! Ken was looking for the leather recliner and EITHER the Big Couch, OR the Loveseat, but he doesn't have room for all three! :)

Please let me know when you get a price set! :)

Can i just say i'm trying really hard not to make any jokes while people talk over and over about their "random wood"?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_earthshine_/ 2008-11-13 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
OK, i've got a call in to the boss. I thought we wanted some extra chairs, but i'll see where we're at in the process.

Either way, if you do get an offer, feel free to take it. We're not in any dire need.

any random wood left over, can always be brought up for another bonfire...if you don't find a home for it.

If I didn't know you were female I'd wonder if "a lot of random wood" was a personal problem...

[identity profile] filmmaker79.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
If no one else took the wood (I didn't read through all the posts), my dad will take at least some, if not all of it, off your hands. He's always looking to keep our firewood supply well stocked. He's got a truck, so we could come and haul it away, no problem.

[identity profile] grndexter.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's finished lumber - it wouldn't be good for firewood... ESPECIALLY if it's treated.

[identity profile] netmouse.livejournal.com 2008-11-13 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, no, most of this is not firewood material, except possibly for a bonfire where fumes would not be as big a deal. Still, not so great.

update

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_earthshine_/ 2008-11-14 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
OK... just talked with K. We're actually gonna pass on the chairs. We're good for now and would maybe wait until the kids are bigger before getting anything we don't want ruined. :)

Thanks, tho!!

ok!

[identity profile] filmmaker79.livejournal.com 2008-11-16 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
My dad never turns away free potential firewood. (Had to choose my phrase carefully, dirty minded friends of mine! hehehe) We used to burn old bowling pins, so I don't know that my dad is worried about the pretreating process. Just lookin out for my daddy.

Had to ask.

I have a taker for the couch but not (so far) for the love seat or the big armchair. It's not a sofabed though, it's just a love seat with reclining backs.

btw, does Brin have a piggybank?

If he wants to come haul wood away, he's welcome to. There is both painted and unpainted lumber, plus some wood stacked in the back yard that was just parts of trees that got cut down.

[identity profile] netmouse.livejournal.com 2008-11-24 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
I have sold the couch but the loveseat and chair are still available. Were you interested?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/jer_/ 2008-11-24 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It is not looking that way. Thank you tho. :)

[identity profile] filmmaker79.livejournal.com 2008-11-25 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Dad wanted to know how big the pieces of wood are and how much there is. Do you think there's enough to fill the bed of a Ranger truck bed? If so, he's interested and would like to work out a time to come haul some away for you....and so we can have toasty fires all winter long! Thanks!

[identity profile] netmouse.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
To fill the bed of a truck? probably not, no. maybe half full, no more.
