Honestly, I would be fine if I lost that job. But it's not just tax preparers. That being said, I am in favor of simplifying the tax code, even if I am out of a job. But I think going to a flat tax rate and playing with the EITC isn't going to cut it. Not by a long shot. But yes, simplification, PLEASE. Make my job a little easier.

As an aside, I agree with that statement. One of the reasons I rather enjoy "The West Wing."
