Yesterday I applied to some places within walking distance of home for retail work. It was tempting to under-represent my education so I didn't look so overqualified, but being overqualified isn't unusual in this town, so I didn't.
I picked up the movie "Chinatown" (Faye Dunaway, Jack Nicholson) at the library and we watched it after dinner.
I found it interesting that in the same week I read a book (Bride of the Rat God) and watched a movie that explicated how the word Chinatown was used in earlier LA times to mean something messed up and unexplainable.
