advice wanted: apple or mac-compatible ergonomic keyboard

I need something with a light touch--preferably not all the way split, but in that direction. keys angled in toward center. This is to work with the iMac I'm using right now at EDA.

What seems to fit what you are asking for the best is the Microsoft Natural 4000.

The internal recommendations also list the Microsoft Natural Elite, an Adesso contoured keyboard, Goldtouch split keyboard, and a Kinesis contoured keyboard.

Pretty much any USB keyboard should work just fine with your iMac.

Personally, I use a Sun Unix keyboard. I'm just too used to where the caps lock and control keys are on it.

I use the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard -- split and angled. They have software with it to track the keys to what you'd expect on a Mac, though you have to get used to the "Apple/Command" key being labeled "Alt"... but at least everything's in the same place. Works fine for me. Not thrilled with the touch, but it's OK.

When I switched to an ergonomic keyboard, I went whole-hog and got the Kinesis Advantage, but work paid for it them (office and home). Pretty much any USB keyboard will work though you might have the "Windows" key for command or whatever. (You can remap the modifiers in the Keyboard preferences pane.)

That's why I have mine swapped on my Macs. Control is now left of A, as ghod intended. :)

I only use the Natural Elite's from Microsoft myself and they work wonders no matter the OS.

I'm a fan of the Adesso Tru-Form (EKB-2150W -- just looked at the bottom of my one at home) ... got some contour, and also has a glidepoint trackpad -- I've found that not moving my arm out to mouse adds to the ergonomic pleasure.
