Avast, ye scurvy snakes and spiders

Painters are here today and I had to clear away things from up against the shed, including the wood pile. Somewhere in the middle I found one of our larger garter snakes. "Good morning!" I cooed to the coiled up snakey snake. He didn't move but to look at me. I picked him up and put him elsewhere in the garden so I could move the rest of his pile. Poor thing, rousted from his rest.

I did not coo at the spiders. I mostly ignored them, or tried to. I'm species-ist, I admit it.

(Arr, yes, it be talk like a pirate day. I'm not up for doing so constantly, but I am rather fond of this popular tradition, so spread the word! Arr!).

I was out in San Jose Monday for work. One of the women I met with was named Anne Murphy. It caused some cognitive dissonance.

Ye be makin' friends with creatures both creepy and crawly. Be ye a sea witch of some sort? Methinks not, as ye be fair of look and word.

Most confoundin'.

Arrrhhhhg! I've missed most of me chance to talk like a pirate this day! Tis a shame, a fair shame.

Also, I love the icon.

She was female. And... nope, that's about it. Oh, she was also shorter than me.
