Old Saying Beloved by my Family



I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.



We have it on a plaque that hangs on my wall. I don't know where it's from. This page, which also has other quotes on communication, attributes something very like it to a Robert McCloskey.
